Creating Your Own Document Templates

New document templates can be created easily by making a regular document file that has the structure and appearance that you want for your template and then using the [File > Save as Template] menu command.

Saving a Document as a Template

1.

Create a document that has the layout and structure you want for your template.

2.

Use the [File > Save as Template] menu command.

3.

In the Save As dialog box, choose the folder where you would like the template to be saved.

4.

Click Save.

5.

Check the Templates tab of the Resource Manager and find your template.

Note

The folder that you choose in the Save As dialog box corresponds to one of the folders in the Templates tab of the Resource Manager.

The Save as Template command automatically opens the WebEditor 2006/lib/AppLib/Component folder. If you save it in this folder, the new template will appear in the main Templates folder in the Templates tab of the Resource Manager. If you save it in the WebEditor 2006/lib/AppLib/Component/Component sub-folder, it will appear in the Documents folder in the Resource Manager. The other sub-folders have the same names as the corresponding folders in the Resource Manager.
