Resource Manager 2 - Basic Usage 1

Overview

The Resource Manager lets you manage various resources for Web documents effeciently. You can select and apply a resource item to a document. You can also modify existing resources.

Selecting a resource

1.	Select the [Window > Resource Manager] menu command.
2.	In the Resource Manager window, click the tab you want.
3.	Select a category in the left category list. The right preview pane displays the resources included in the selected category.

4.	Click the item in the right preview pane. A dotted rectangle appears around the selected resource item

Applying the Resource

1.	Click one of the command buttons. Each tab has different command buttons.
	Insert Button Inserts the currently selected resource in the document. (Templates, Clip Art, Smart ClipArt, and Flash Buttons tabs.) Apply Button Applies the selected resource to the current document. (Themes tab) New Document Button Opens a new document with the selected document template (Templates tab) Insert as Background Button Inserts the currently selected resource in the document. (Clip Art tab.) Insert Color Set Button Adds the selected color to the custom color. (Color Sets tab)
2.	Alternatively, double click the selected resource. The resource is inserted or applied to the document.

Editing Resources

You can edit resources such as Smart Buttons, Flash Buttons, Color Sets, and Themes as you wish. You can edit resources in the Smart Buttons, Flash Buttons, and Color Sets tabs.

1.	Select the [Window > Resource Manager] menu command.
2.	Select the tab you want out of the Color Sets, Smart ClipArt and Flash Buttons tabs.
3.	In the left category list, select the folder you want.
4.	In the right preview pane, right-click the resource item
	In the Color Sets tab, click Edit Color.
	In the Smart ClipArt or Flash Buttons tabs, click Modify.

Reference

	Select {Modify as New...} in the shortcut menu to add a new copy of the selected resource.


	In the case of Smart ClipArt elements, which are vector-based, both the {Import File...} and the {Modify...} commands in the shortcut menu are activated. In the case of regular Clip Art elements, the {Modify...} menu is not activated.

	You can use other menu commands to apply resources. However, the Color Sets feature can be used only through the [Window > Resource Manager] menu command.) e.g. The Resource Manager window displayed when you select the [File > New...] menu command. Note that this window includes only the Templates tab.
