Features

Simple Administration

Easy Setup

Unlike many other server-based programs, Namo DeepSearch comes with an easy-to-follow setup program so even beginners can easily install and run the program. All you need to do is enter a couple of setup commands and configure a few settings for your system environment. You'll be surprised how easy it is.

Remote Administration via Web Browser

Many server-based programs, especially those running on Unix-type operating systems, require you to learn a confusing command-line interface in order to manage the program. DeepSearch offers an administrator interface in a set of ordinary Web pages. With DeepSearch, no matter where you are, you can perform complete remote administration via any Web browser, as long as you have access to the Internet.

Easy Customization

Creating search forms can be difficult if you're not experienced. Fortunately, Namo DeepSearch provides a search form design page, so even if you've never worked with forms before, you can make an appealing search page for your visitors quickly and easily
Powerful Search

Optimized Index File

In order to deliver search results as quickly as possible, a search engine needs to organize your data by indexing it in advance. Namo DeepSearch creates an optimal index by organizing only significant words through an original analyzing process. This optimized data allows DeepSearch to display search results faster than other search engines.

Scheduled Indexing

In order to keep search results up to date, you should index as often as possible. Yet it's inconvenient to manually initiate indexing every day. That's why Namo DeepSearch features daily scheduled indexing. Just enter the time of the day you want your site to be indexed, and DeepSearch will automatically index your site for you.

.ASP and CGI Document Indexing

DeepSearch's indexing and searching capabilities aren't limited to HTML documents. DeepSearch can also index dynamic documents created using CGI or ASP scripts.

Selective Exclusion Support

DeepSearch supports a unique "" tag to avoid indexing unimportant parts of documents. You can use the tag to keep DeepSearch from indexing documents and document parts that don't need indexing, such as headers, tables of contents, and the like. DeepSearch also respects robot exclusion tags.

Filtering Searches by URL

Sometimes, you visitors may have a rough idea of where in your Web site the information they want is, but when they perform a search they get too many matches from other parts of your site as well. To alleviate this problem, Namo DeepSearch lets your visitors restrict a search just to URLs that contain a specified string. This feature can also be used to limit searches to certain document types by specifying the document's extension.
Effective Search Results

Result Link Checking

Namo DeepSearch checks for invalid links within the search results. Your visitors won't see any annoying "This page cannot be found" messages. They'll know if the link is valid or not before they click on it.

Result Summaries

DeepSearch automatically generates summaries of found documents, making it easy for your visitors to evaluate search results. You can even choose from three kinds of summaries what kind of summary your visitors will get.

Quick View

DeepSearch provides Quick View buttons on search result pages that let your visitors quickly preview the text of a matching page without having to actually load the page. Matching search terms are highlighted in red. Your visitors will find the Quick View to be a great timesaver.

Search Term Highlighting

All matching words on result pages are highlighted in red. Your visitors won't have to read the entire document to figure out whether they've found what they were looking for.

Result Sorting Options

Namo DeepSearch search results can be sorted by date, revelance, or URL. The flexible sorting options will help your visitors find what they're looking for as quickly as possible.
Complete Service Control

Automatic Protection

With Namo DeepSearch, your search service is automatically protected against viruses and malicious attacks. If something goes wrong with the search service because of a virus or other attack, Namo DeepSearch automatically detects the error and shuts itself down. This safety precaution minimizes any damage that could occur to your DeepSearch installation or the server.

Automatic Error Notification

With some search engines, your site visitors know about problems with the search service before you do. That's why Namo DeepSearch informs you of service interruptions right away by sending you an e-mail describing the problem. That way, you can minimize downtime.

Automatic Update Notifications

Namo DeepSearch automatically checks for available program updates. When a DeepSearch update becomes available, you'll see a flashing icon on the admin page. Click on this icon and you'll be taken directly to a page on SJ NAMO's Web site where you can download the update.
