Introducing the Admin Page

To connect to the DeepSearch Administrator Page, enter the URL address for the Admin page by changing mclient.cgi (search page) to madmin.cgi (Admin page) in the search page URL. For example, if the search page URL is http://xxx.xxxx.xxx/cgi-bin/mclient.cgi, change it to http://xxx.xxxx.xxx/cgi-bin/madmin.cgi

After you enter the appropriate URL, a page will prompt you to type in the Admin password you have assigned during the installation.

At the top section of the Admin page you will see 5 menu tabs and 4 large round icons.

Menus

Each of the five tabs on top shows a sub-level menu when you roll over the mouse:

Indexing
URLs, Options, Categories, User Tags

Search
Templates, Options

Dictionary
Thesaurus, Key Words

Sever
Options, Meta/News, Password

Log
Server, Ranking, Information

Round Icons

	Assign URLs (same as Indexing/URLs) This link takes you to the page where you assign URLs to be indexed, URLs not to be indexed, external filters, and file extensions to be indexed.
	Start/Cancel Indexing This link lets you start indexing or cancel the indexing process. The propeller spins when DeepSearch is indexing, and when the indexing completes, the propeller stops.
	Service Status This icon is not a link but lets you know if DeepSearch is running. When the search engine is running, the submarine will be in motion.
	*Server Log (same as Log/Server)* This link takes you to the indexing result page where you can obtain information such as home site URL, number of added items, updated items, indexed documents, indexed words, etc.

Daily Tips and Server Status

The rest of Admin home page is composed of daily tips and the server status. The daily tips change every time you log in to the Admin page.

The server status window provides a summary of information regarding DeepSearch operations from service start date to indexing results.
