Server
Server/Options
By setting Server Options, you can easily keep track of possible
errors while DeepSearch 4 is running. - Basic
Options
- Server Port: The TCP port number DeepSearch 4 uses. DeepSearch
4 automatically sets it.
- Auto-check for update: If you select this option, DeepSearch
4 notifies you when an update is available by changing the icon
on the top of search page. If you click on the icon, you can get
information about the update on the DeepSearch web page.
- Administrator e-mail address: When DeepSearch encounters an error,
a notifying message will be sent to this e-mail address.
- Server emergency alarm: Insert a command to deliver
a message to the Administrator when the server has an error. If
you use the
default command mailnote, a message will be sent
to the Administrator in either Windows or Unix.
- Permitted IP addresses: Assign IP address from which
the Administrator can access the page. Use * for all addresses.
- Server Log Options
You can set the screen refresh time. 0 means don't refresh
the screen.
- Query Ranking Options
DeepSearch 4 can identify popular search words.
- Analyze every ( ) day: You can assign the time interval in days
for DeepSearch 4 to analyze the search log.
- Anayze period ( )days: You can assign how many days of the search
log will be analyzed.
For example, if you assign Analyze every 1 day and analyze
period as 3 days, DeepSearch 4 analyzes the search log everyday
with a maximum of 3 days of data.
Meta/News
You can set up the Meta Server and News Scraps options for your
convenience.
- Enable meta search: check this box if you want to enable the
Meta search option.
- Port number: 8703 is the default value. It changes automatically
when other services are using the same port.
- Display source sites as icons: This option displays search results
with icons representing the search engines. If you want to change
an image, copy an image file with the same name to Resource directory.
- Summary method: When the same URL has been found by multiple
search engines, you can select to display summary results from
all search engines or only one.
- Search results per site: You can decide how many search
results per page will be brought from each search engine. If
you select Optimal, it
will display 10 results per site per page in sorting by
site and 20 results in sorting by weight.
- Max threads: The number of threads to use for meta searching.
The default value is 0 (unlimited). If the server is slow or there
are many Meta search users, you can limit the number of threads.
- Auto-update Meta search rules: meta.ini is
essential for Meta search. The content of the file is often changed.
If
you select this option, the Meta server automatically updates
meta.ini.
News Scrapbook
In order to use News scrap, you must enable the option by checking
the box. Enter search terms separated by semicolons (;) and select
the Search and Removal intervals. After the selected search interval
time, DeepSearch 4 searches in News sites and sorts search results
on View Scrapbook.
Server/Password
You can change the Admin password on this page.
Change the password regularly for security.
