Dictionary/Thesaurus
Administrators can use this option to add/modify
synonyms or edit the thesaurus. For example, the word love can
have other similar words or phrases such as affection, adore, like,
devotion, etc.
Namo DeepSearch provides two methods of performing this thesaurus
search for your website visitors. The first method is when the
visitors use the # operator in front of the search
word in order to expand a search. The second method is called Automatic
Change, in which your web site visitors don't need to use
the # operator to expand their searches.
|
Adding Automatic Change Synonyms
|
Enter synonyms with spaces in between,
such as school college university elementary. Then,
the visitors do not need to add the # operator
to expand their search.
Input: school college university elementary
Click: Insert
|
|
Adding Non-Automatic Synonyms
|
If you add (s) at the end
of words that you add to the thesaurus, DeepSearch will mark
those synonyms as being available only if the visitors use
the # operator. These words will not be available
for Automatic Change features.
Input: school college(s) university(s) kindergarten(s)
Click: Insert
|
|
Deleting Synonyms
|
The method of deleting a synonym from
the thesaurus is the same as adding a new one, but click
Delete. If you want to delete non-automatic synonyms,
you must add (s) suffix as well.
Input: school college (s) university(s) kindergarten(s)
Click: Delete
|
- Automatic Change
When you enter a new synonym pair, DeepSearch
will automatically link the new synonym to pre-registered synonyms
in the
thesaurus. For example, if you add academy as
a new synonym for school, academy will
automatically be registered as a synonym of the pre-registered
words college, university, high
school, etc.
Insert: academy university(s) kindergarten(s)
DeepSearch Automatic Link:
Academy: university(s), kindergarten(s), school
University: kindergarten, school(s), academy(s)
Kindergarten: school(s), academy(s), university
- View Synonym List
If you would like to view the current thesaurus, you
simply click on the first letter or type in a similar spelling.
Dictionary/Keywords
DeepSearch indexes only words that are in its
dictionary. Using the keyword editor, you can register special
words or terms that are not in the dictionary, such as professional
terms, jargon, names of people and places, etc. You can manually
type in these special terms or keywords and then click Add or create
a list of keywords in a text file (*.txt - one word per line)
and then upload it using the File Manager.
